“I joined Karen’s class after my previous Physio-led Pilates class closed so I was very wary of trying a new, non-physio class. I needn’t have worried. Karen is very knowledgeable about the human body and how it works, so is able to tailor the exercises to suit the individual. This is a benefit of small classes. You know Karen is there to make sure you are in the correct position for the exercises. The Thursday morning class also has the benefit of the Buff Bones system so for those of us who are a bit arthritic or have osteoporosis even better. On top of all this Karen is a friendly and approachable instructor who listens to her clients. "I love your classes, …......As I age my muscles feel less flexible and shorter; your weekly classes help to keep my muscles long and more flexible than they would be without. I often find that I arrive feeling rather stiff and sore from, say, gardening, and come away feeling much freer in my movement. I like the fact that the classes are small and there is no competition about who does how many repeats of the exercise. I enjoy the way you plan each class, that you demonstrate the exercise, and that you make sure we are in the right position. I have been doing Pilates for 7 years and I am still learning, from you, how to position myself correctly. I appreciate the fact that you are aware of each individual's difficulties and will offer alternate exercises. I can't think of anything that would make the classes more enjoyable. "I have been going to Karen’s classes weekly for about two years and highly recommend them to anyone struggling with core issues post pregnancy and birth. I had been advised to stop running and not engage in any high impact exercise in the long term which was a huge loss for me. Karen was careful to understand what my needs were before I started the classes and adapted the exercises so that they were suitable for me. We took a slow and steady approach which allowed me as time went on to take up other forms of exercise to support my recovery. I was delighted to unexpectedly be told in an assessment with a physio a few months ago that my issues had completely resolved and to be given the all clear to start running again. I have since finished the couch to 5k program with no problems and am now working my way up to 10km events.
